Neil Bennett is an award-winning photographer from the UK now based in Melbourne.

His career began on The Western Mail newspaper in the UK in 1990. Over the last two decades he has worked for various newspapers and magazines in the UK and US, as a staff and freelance photographer, picture editor and deputy editor.

He has covered a variety of subjects, from the Royal family to major sporting events, as well as portraiture for magazines and publishers such as Bloomsbury. His reportage assignments have taken him to Africa – including covering famine in Ethiopia and a HIV and Aids programme in Uganda. He travelled to New York in 2001 to document the aftermath of 9/11.

Neil's clients have included among others The Observer, and The Independent newspapers, as well as the BBC and notable PR and marketing agencies. More recently Neil has been commissioned by opera, ballet and theatre companies for concert and rehearsal photography, marketing and advertising shoots and even curating a successful fundraising exhibition.

Neil also takes reportage style images of weddings, telling a full candid story of the day.
